Here is what our customers are saying...

Hi George,

First, thank you, Earl, and your crews for all you did in short order to get the roof, skylights, and chimney sealing done.

Thanks for the excellent work that you and your people have done and for the strong follow-up with the minor problems that crop up along the way.

Best wishes,

Dick

Hello George:

Have been wanting to write you and say thank you for the GREAT work on our recent roofing replacement. As always the work was GREAT and the workers very considerate while they were here.  You have been doing work for us for the last 20 years and I always feel confident that contacting you will mean a great job done quickly.  Tell everyone hello from us.  Thanks again.

Mr. Crockett, thank you so much for the wonderful work you did on the carport, siding, and other little problems.  A new one has arisen and I will call tomorrow.  My hot water heater seems to be going.  I will call tomorrow to see if you can do anything or if you can recommend someone.  Again, thank you for the wonderful job you and your company have done so far.

Dear George,

Words cannot express the gratitude that Jodi and I have for you and your staff. We were very nervous and reluctant about a remodel  of our newly purchased home. We had heard dozens of horror stories about dealing with contractors.  Dealing with your company we have had no such complaints.  I can honestly tell you that working with you was a pleasure and the work that was performed on the house is first class.  You attention to detail as the project was moving along made our family quite comfortable.  I believe that professionals work at a pace that allows them to do the best job possible, even though you were very timely in the work that was being performed. Since the job has been completed you have made every effort to make sure we were satisfied.. and I can assure you that we are.
The Raccuia's THANK YOU for making our home in Radford a special place!
Go Highlanders!

To Whom It May Concern:

My first meeting with George Crockett was during the fall of 2006.  My wife and I had built our home in 1994 with only a "great room" and we wanted a den where we could sort of get away from a formal gathering place.  We called over seven builders, home improvement specialists, contractors, etc. trying to get an estimate on converting our 2-car garage into a den and then building a new garage to house our vehicles.

At the appointed time Mr. Crockett showed up for our meeting.  He stayed for a long time because we had alot of questions to ask about this possible conversion.  We went into the garage and outside listening to what Mr. Crockett had to share about our plans.  He offered several ideas and said he would get back with us in a few days.

Three or four days later Mr. Crockett called and we scheduled a meeting to discuss the ideas on converting our garage to a den and building a new shelter for our cars.  After discussing the price for the conversion he said he needed to get specific measurements on the new garage as there might be a problem with subdivision setback requirements.  It was during this time that a significant change in our plans occurred.  After all the measurements were taken Mr. Crockett said he was concerned about backing out of the proposed new garage and having turnaround space to maneuver a car in order to get down the driveway and out to the street.  We told him we would have to think about our plans and his concerns and get back with him.  Before he left, Mr. Crockett said we might want to think about converting our screened porch to a new room since it shared a wall and eat-in-area with the kitchen and keeping our garage "as is".  With that thought as a new idea, we told him we would call him if we wanted to go forward with our plans.

Through the remaining fall months and into early winter we thought about all that Mr. Crockett had suggested and then made our decision after the new year, 2007.  We had drawn a sketch of what we wanted and called Mr. Crockett to come over to discuss our alternate plans.  He appeared at the appointed time and we told him to forget converting the garage that we liked the idea of converting our screened porch and keeping our already existing garage instead of building a new one.

In February plans were made and finalized and we entered into an agreement with Mr. Crockett to convert our screened porch by opening it up through the eat-in kitchen area, adding a gas log fireplace on one end, French doors leading from the back of the new room to our flower garden and pouring a sidewalk and patio at the back of the house.  Since the screened porch was built on a slab that was almost the same height as was the kitchen from the ground, Mr. Crockett helped us decide on the flooring to use that would be appealing and harmonious to our existing kitchen tiled floor.  He invited us to his home to look at the tile flooring he had selected and to meet with his tile and flooring specialist to help give us an idea on how to finish our own room.

In March, 2007 Mr. Crockett began the conversion process for our new room.  All work was performed and completed to our complete satisfaction.  From our foyer, one can look through our former eat-in-area into the new room.  From every angle our new room does not look like an "add on" addition and instead, it looks like an original room of the house.  Entering into the new room one can see the French doors and ample windows for viewing the garden area behind the house.  To the left is the gas log fireplace and the floor we used is large, 18" X 18" tile placed on a diagonal to the kitchen rendering a feeling of a totally separate room.  On the wall common to the kitchen we mounted a Mitsubishi "Mr. Slim" combination heat and air conditioner system.  This unit does a superb job of keeping the room comfortable year-round.  The gas log provides supplemental heat during the cold winter months and one floor vent from our existing heat/airconditioning system was routed to the opposite end of the room from the gas log to provide ample heating and cooling to the area.

Another feature of the changes we made was to convert a hallway laundry area into a laundry room still accessible from the garage as before but with new doors to completely close off the washing machine and dryer.  In place of a former door to the screened porch, we closed that off and installed a wall-mount ironing board.

Outside the back of the house an unused small slab of concrete was completely removed and in its place Mr. Crockett installed a large concrete patio connected to a long and extra wide sidewalk connecting to the driveway parking area.

We were 100% satisfied with the work provided by Crockett Home Improvement.  Everything down to the smallest detail was addressed.  I found George Crockett to be easy to work with and professional in every way.  The work crew that performed the conversion was polite and anytime we had a question, the supervisor responded within a day and/or called Mr. Crockett to arrange a meeting to discuss necessities.  Throughout the project the workers cleaned up after themselves on a daily basis.  When the conversion was completed it was impossible to distinguish from where the porch had been located to where the room was situated.  It looked like it had always been a part of the original house.  I highly recommend George Crockett for any kind of home improvement construction project.

I do want to add one additional comment.  I was so impressed with the professionalism of George Crockett and his workers that I contacted him in December about stripping the carpet in the upstairs part of my house and replacing it with wood flooring.  This work was done to my complete satisfaction in February-March of this year.  All work was completed on time and again, we are completely satisfied.

It is a pleasure to recommend Crockett Home Improvement, Inc. for all kinds of construction projects in and around the home.  Please feel free to call me if you have a question.  I am sure you will be just as satisfied with your project as I am with mine.

Crockett Home Improvement really delivers when you need a quality job done.  Our townhouse in Christiansburg was sorely in need of a number of major repairs, to include the restoration of a downstairs bedroom that had been torn out because of a mold problem (drywall, flooring and bathroom). We needed a turn-key solution from a contractor that was responsive and was comfortable working with someone from out-of-town. We had contacted a number of home improvement companies, but none of them ever followed through, and even bothered to give us an estimate. Crockett Home Improvement delivered on all counts, to include a personal, on-site inspection over an Easter weekend and then a top notch performance with all the work completed as we wanted and ahead of schedule. If you want something done right and done in a timely manner, call Crockett Home Improvement and tell George what you want. He'll take it from there.

George,
I wanted to thank you for the fine carpentry work. Your company did a wonderful job. Our family is very pleased with the results. I also wanted to let you know that I would be glad to be a reference for Crockett Home Improvement should you ever need one. It's not often that I meet someone as honest as you are. During our deck project, everything you and I discussed, whether by email, in person or over the phone was carried out exactly as you said it would be. I tell anyone who asks that you are truly a man of your word. And that's rare these days.
Thanks again,
Richard B. Tilley (Brad)

Hi George,

I am so impressed with the deck!!!!!  It is amazing and that's putting it mildly.   When I drove in from work today, I thought I was at the wrong house.  It is absolutely beautiful.  The craftsmanship is outstanding.  I was off yesterday for Easter Monday and watched from time to time.  I was so impressed when there was an apparent problem with the top railing on one section.  The guys who were working on it labored for awhile, then went and got Ken.  He "eyeballed" it, got his plumb line, and it was removed, adjusted and re-attached.  Throughout the day, I would look out the window and there he was with his huge level, spot-checking different sections.  And the joint on the railing, well, this is the most meticulous craftsmanship I have ever witnessed on any construction project.  I am so looking forward to seeing the finished product for the front porch!!  The new deck actually makes the house look larger - you are indeed a magician.

Thank you so very much for such wonderful construction.  It's so nice to go down the stairs and not have them move!

My Windows are installed and the framing wrapped and I am pleased with the workmanship. Frank  and Michael were a joy to have around, we had a good time getting to know each other. Other than the times I took them away from their work with conversation they were diligent in their work. The windows look great; their workmanship is much improved over the workmanship of the two men that wrapped the windows when the siding was installed.
